Press Release

Al-Khidmat Foundation has sent so far Rupees 50 millions for about two million refugees of Swat, Dir, Bunair and Swabi declared Mr. Niamatullah Khan President Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan

President Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan Mr. Niamatullah Khan addressing the office Bearers and other important personalities of Foundation informed them that so far Al-Khidmat Foundation has sent more than rupees 50 millions for about two Million affectees of Bunair, Swat Swabi and Dir the areas under Army operation. Relief goods are in addition to the cash remittances. Mr. Khan gave them detailed account of the emergency services being rendered by Foundation in these areas. He informed them that so far more than a million affectees have been forced to migrate to various parts of NWFP.

Mr. Niamatullah Khan stressed upon the Government that it is not enough that through announcement they ask the population to leave their homes and migrate to safe places. He demanded that Government is also responsible to look after and take proper care of the Refugees and arrange for their Shelter, Food and Medical relief.

Mr. Khan expressed his dismay that the Government does not consider itself responsible to help the refugees in most unbearable circumstances.

Al-Khidmat Foundation has so far established 70 Relief Camps and 5 Medical Camps. Besides Al-Khidmat has also organized Tent – Villages in Mardan, Swabi and Col sher Khan Kalley.

In addition to the above camps Al-Khidmat has also established 24 camps including 16 medium size camps, 14 Reception Camps and 4 Medical Camps in Lower Dir. Al-Khidmat has also provided free transport facilities to three lakh  refugees.

Mr. Niamatullah Khan President of the Foundation has appealed the general public especially rich and wealthier persons of the society to come forward and help their brothers, sisters, elderly people and children in this catastrophe and not leave them alone in helpless condition. They need wholehearted support and help.
