Islamabad: In a bid to renew to the commitment to protect rights of orphan children across Pakistan, a special event was held at Hotel Hill View, Islamabad with reference to World Orphans Day on Saturday.The ceremony was held under the banner of Pakistan orphan Care Forum.
POCF Chairman and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan President Abdus Shakoor, Senator Azam Sawati, representatives of POCF partner NGOs and a large number of orphan children were present on the occasion. People from different fields of life also participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdus Shakoor vowed to continue working for sponsorship of more than 4.2 million orphan children of Pakistan. He urged civil society to join hands with the NGOs working for orphan children in Pakistan and around the world.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that POCF marks World Orphans Day on Ramadan 15 every year in the light of resolutions adopted by OIC and the Senate of Pakistan.
