Education

Introduction

Knowledge is power and education is the foundation of knowledge. An educated nation is a powerful one. Developed nations have a greater influence in the world. They influence the world due to educational excellence. Underdeveloped nations lag behind due to their illiteracy and struggle to do well economically.

Situation in Pakistan

The state of education in Pakistanis is below standard. United Nations’ 2013 report ranked Pakistan 146 out of 187 countries on a human development index.  According to a UN report “Pakistan has one of the lowest investments in terms of education — it spends 1.8 percent on education”. Moreover, almost 75 percent of the students drop out of schools before reaching class-X, while millions leave in the first two years in the primary schools.
