Background:

Human beings are facing multifarious problems these days. The major proportion of population all around the world confronts economic and social problems like dearness, poverty, ignorance, and lack of basic facilities etc. 

If measured from the standard of Human Development Index Pakistan faces severe problems in terms of health, education and income. The sad fact are manifested from the fact that Pakistan ranks at 145th in the human development index and almost 50% of Pakistan’s population is deprived of basic of very basic health and education facilities. According to the HDR report another 11% of the population is in an immediate threat of multidimensional poverty and 27.1% of the population lives under severe poverty conditions.

Alkhidmat’s response:

Alkhidmat Foundation has a vision of a safe, educated and healthy community. Over its many years of service, Alkhidmat is known to identify and address the community issues of Pakistan Alkhidmat is working on a mission of harmonious community possessing good health, education, awareness, and a responsible attitude towards the overall progress of Pakistan.

The Community Development consists of the following programs:

 

Winter Package

Alkhidmat foundation devoted Rs.50 million for relief to be distributed under the ‘Winter Package 2011-12 campaign’.The Winter Package 2011-12 assistance was distributed in nine regions: Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sind, and Balochistan. AlKhidmat's volunteers reached out and delivered assistance to destitute sections of society, including orphans and widows, who could not afford to buy warm clothes, blankets, and other necessities, to face the chilly season.
Alkhidmat is pleased to announce that as many as 50,000 families benefitted from Winter Package 2011-12...

 

Qurbani Project

Alkhidmat foundation keeps up with its tradition of former years in reaching out to the poorest and most downtrodden segment of the society to share the happiness and blessings of Eid UlAdha with them. Like past years, Alkhidmat foundation’s volunteers worked tirelessly to conduct qurbani (sacrifice) and distributed the qurbani meat among the most deserving people. Self Employment (Microfinance, Skill Training)

Alkhidmat foundation has a strong resolve to eliminate unemployment in Pakistan. It provides small-scale self-employments means to the poorest people, by the help of donors. Alkhidmat also spends a substantial sum on the training of the people,so that they could acquire necessarily skills to find meaningful employment.

 

Alkhidmat also makes use of the principles of micro finance to help people who desire to start their own small-scale work.

 

Masajid Rehabilitation

Pakistan has gone through two major catastrophes in recent years, which has resulted in mass-scale destruction of public and private property. A lot of mosques were also affected in the unfortunate regions.

 

Alkhidmat foundation has been helping the rehabilitation of the affected communities. In the process, Alkhidmat has also been rebuilding mosques to facilitate the loca communty.

1036 mosques have been reconstructed/rebuilt and over Rs. 108 million have been spent in the process.

 

Wheel Chairs

Alkhidmat foundation has a tradition of helping physically challenged people.

Alkhdmat believes in empowering such individuals so that they could turn out to be an asset for the society. 

Till now Alkhidmat has spent around Rs. 22.4 million in distributing wheel-chairs. Almost 4480 people have benefited from this initiate.
