Aghosh Annual Day

Attock – April 14, 2012,

Renowned scientist Dr A.Q. Khan visited AlKhidmat’s AGHOSH project where he watched skits presented by young orphan children and distributed presents among them. 230 orphan children are being provided with cadet-college-standard education and boarding facilities at this institution, while another similar facility, expected to house up to 400 orphan children, is under construction near Murree on the Islamabad-Murree Highway.

Dr A.Q. Khan also laid the foundation stone of another AlKhidmat project, Hira Model Primary School, which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 Million, as well as planting a tree at the site. He expressed his profound delight at observing the best possible care and facilities being provided to innocent orphan children and encouraged them to acquire modern scientific knowledge, become good Muslims and patriotic Pakistanis, and to become an asset for the country. He was also presented with a souvenir shield at the occasion.

AlKhidmat is dedicated to expanding its countrywide Orphan Care Program from serving hundreds of orphan children to caring for thousands more, at AlKhidmat’s institutions, as well as at their own doorsteps if they happen to reside with relatives. Collection of data regarding 30 orphans from each of the nine regions specified, i.e. Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA, Karachi, and Islamabad, is already underway in this regard.

Prominent scholar, Dr Anees Ahmad, AlKhidmat President, Dr Hafeez-ur-Rahman, AlKhidmat Secretary General, Muhammad Abdush Shakoor, AlKhidmat Vice President, Dr Iqbal Khalil, as well as Director, AlKhidmat Orphan Care Program, Col. (Retd) Khalid Mahmood Abbasi, were also present at the occasion.
