Shikarpur – June 11, 2012; The Rehabilitation unit of Al-Khidmat’s Disaster Management Division regularly executes various relief projects, such as distribution of food packages, as well as construction and handing over of new homes, for people affected by disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, etc. AlKhidmat has constructed and handed over almost 3,000 homes to quake and flood affected families to date.
In line with Al-Khidmat’s Rehabilitation Program, Chairman Al-Khidmat Foundation, Naimatullah Khan Advocate, handed over keys and ownership documents of 28 new homes to heads of families whose homes had been destroyed in the 2010 and 2011 floods in a ceremony held at Rahimabad village near Shikarpur, Sindh Province. Affected families were delighted to receive keys to their new homes and along with expressing their profound gratitude, deeply appreciated AlKhidmat’s extensive work for disaster affected people.
Rahim Yar Khan – June 11, 2012; Al-Khidmat Rahim Yar Khan gave out wheelchairs to physically challenged women from the Jinnah Park area Christian community in a ceremony held here today. AlKhidmat has a dedicated program of giving out free wheelchairs to physically challenged people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or religion, and it does so regularly in various areas of Pakistan. Members of the Christian community thanked AlKhidmat for its services.
Al-Khidmat sincerely believes in alleviating all sorts of day to day problems faced by underprivileged people, and giving out free wheelchairs to people who cannot afford to buy one themselves is a part of AlKhidmat’s commitment to serve humanity.
Representatives of the Christian community of Jinnah Park, Christopher John, Victor Yusuf, Mukhtar Masih; notable personalities such as Dr Anwar-ul-Haq, Rana Munir Ahmad, Shabbir Ahmad, and Abu Zubair, as well as President, AlKhidmat Rahim Yar Khan, Chaudhry Abd-ul-Razzaq, were also present at the occasion.
Peshawar – June 9, 2012; Al-Khidmat’s ambulances have transported bodies of 20 persons who had died as a result of the bomb blast, which had destroyed a government bus carrying civil secretariat employees at Gul Bela bus stop in Nagman area of Peshawar, to their respective towns and villages for burial.
Al-Khidmat volunteers and ambulances immediately reached the site of the tragedy and moved 12 bodies to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, while the other 08 corpses were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital, Charsaddah. AlKhidmat also provided coffins for the casualties and later transported the dead bodies to their respective towns and villages for burial.
Peshawar – June 8, 2012; Al-Khidmat Foundation Peshawar handed out food packages, kitchen utensils, and crockery sets worth Rupees 02 Million to 500 internally displaced families from Bara area of Khyber Agency. The assistance is just a part of an ongoing relief effort taken up by AlKhidmat for helping internally displaced people who have been forced to abandon their homes and belongings due to the ongoing strife in the country’s northern areas.
Islamabad – June 7, 2012; In line with Al-Khidmat’s efforts to provide people of rural and underprivileged areas with free healthcare services, AlKhidmat Islamabad Region organized a free medical camp at Bhara Kahu, a rapidly growing community surrounded by 40 to 50 small villages in the suburbs of Islamabad.
Al-Khidmat had acquired the services of two physicians for the camp, one of them being an ENT specialist, while the other was an expert in orthopedics, as well as being a general surgeon. A total of 155 patients were examined at the camp, including 84 male patients, 51 female patients, as well as 20 children.
As is always the case at AlKhidmat’s Free Medical Camps, medicines were also provided to patients free of cost. Moreover, an AlKhidmat ambulance was also at hand offering transport to patients during camp hours.
