Sheikhupura: Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Sheikhupura chapter distributed as many as 10 wheelchairs among the needy and the deserving handicapped persons in Sheikhupura. A special ceremony was held for this purpose on Monday. The project was implemented in collaboration with Free Wheelchair Mission.
Lahore: Alkhimdat Foundation Women Wing Trust on Tuesday distributed special wedding gifts among as many as 50 needy and deserving women. A special ceremony was held at the office of AKF Women Wing Trust, Punjab Society near Ghazi road, Lahore.
The ceremony was administered by In-charge Community Services AKF Women Wing Trust Lahore Mrs. Afia Ali. Other distinguished dignitaries included Dr. Noshaba Ahsan, Mrs. Naila Nasser, Mrs. Talat Baleegh, Mrs. Shahida Tanveer, Mrs. Yasmeen Salim and Mrs. Saba Saqib.
On the occasion Mrs. Naila Nasser also delivered a special speech about the importance and significance of Kutba-e-Nikah in Islam. AKF Women Wing Trust Lahore Secretary General Mrs. Saba Saqib also briefed the participants about Alkhidmat Foundation’s social services and contributions to the community.
Afterwards, the participants were also given lunch boxes. The recipients of the Wedding Boxes expressed their gratitude also towards Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan arranged first ever “Alkhidmat Youth Gathering” at Lahore’s Aiwan-e-Iqbal on November 12 to inspire the young generation to participate in the welfare activities. Students from over 25 Pakistani universities attended the event. The distinguished dignitaries included Turkish Deputy Prime Minister’s Advisor Atef Ozbey, renowned journalists Orya Maqbool Jan, Habib Akram, Najam Wali, Bilal Ghauri and many others.
Alkhidmat Foundation President Abdul Shakoor, Senior Vice President Syed Ihsanullah, Secretary General Dr Mushtaq Mangat and other representatives of AKF Pakistan were also present on the occasion. The event comprised of multiple sessions which urged youth to come forward and engage in social work to resolve the issues face by the other fellow human being. Representatives of other sister charities, which work in coordination with Alkhidmat Foundation, also brief the participants about their welfare activities being carried in the different parts of the country.
Globally known motivational speaker Abdul Samad Khan and Tanzila Khan arranged special training sessions which galvanized the youngsters present inside the auditorium. Afterwards, a special discussion titled “Volunteers as social change leaders” was also held. Versatile personalities and young volunteers participated in the discussion. Neo News’ anchor Maryam Ismail also hosted an exclusive session to pay rich tributes to the legendary volunteers of Pakistan.
Renowned philanthropists Master Ayub, Pareeevn Saeed, Major ® Tariq Javed and Ahmed Jamil Rashid appeared as distinguished guests for the session. They not only apprised the participants about their lifelong struggles in the serve of humanity but they also mentioned other well-known social activists such as Abdul Sattar Edhi, Naimatullah Khan and Dr Adeeb Rizvi to inspire the new generation. Addressing the gathering Alkhidmat Foundation Secretary General Dr Mushtaq Mangat called on the partcipants to stop waiting for someone else to resolve their issues and instead urged them to themselves the very first step to bring about the change.
He said the presence of such a huge number youngsters in this hall is a positive sign for Pakistan. In the end a special theatre play “Sachi Kamai” was also presented while the event concluded when the youthful participants eye sky lanterns just outside the Aiwan-e-Iqbal. It is also worth mentioning here that the event received immense attention on the mainstream media as well as the social media. Alkhidmat Youth Gathering remained a trending topic on micro-blogging website Twitter throughout the day.

A special ceremony was held to this effect near Mujahid Hospital, Faisalabad. The project was implemented in collaboration with Free Wheelchair Mission.
